  26. The full switch game can only be run on Risc OS 3.1 machines.

  28. This demo version will run on Risc OS 3.1 and Risc PC machines.

  31. Instructions
  32. ------------

  34. Switch is a very easy to understand (random) puzzle game in which you must
  35. match up counters of the same colour on the bottom row of a grid, in order
  36. to make them diappear. These will then be replaced by more, falling in from
  37. above, continuing on until your time runs out.
  38.  
  39. In the full game, there are 9 levels of difficulty, with 10 time limits
  40. each, making a total of 90 levels. In this version, you have the 10
  41. time limits, but are restricted to level 1.

  43. Title Screen
  44. ------------

  46. In this version, on the title screen you can use the mouse to change the
  47. time limit, or start the game. Nothing else shown has any effect.
  48.  
  49. In the case of the time limits, click the arrows above and below the number
  50. shown to increase or decrease it. The number you should be changing is the
  51. number after the decimal point, where the screen says level. 0 is the
  52. longest, 9 the shortest.

  54. Click on the word Start, to start the game.
  55.  
  56. Pressing <shift> and <escape> together will return you to RISC OS.

  59. Playing
  60. -------

  62. Play is controlled with the mouse.
  63.  
  64. If you click Select on the arrows to the left and right of the bottom
  65. row, that row will move in that direction. Using Adjust moves it in the
  66. other direction. The counter that disappears off one end reappears at
  67. the other end.
  68.  
  69. If you click Select on any counter on the bottom row (except the end
  70. ones) the two counters either side of it will switch places. Clicking
  71. Adjust on one will make it disappear, to be replaced from above. Each
  72. time you do this, however, you prevent your next 'match' from resulting
  73. in a score. The number of times matches are ignored is shown at the
  74. bottom left of the playing area as 'LOSE'
  75.  
  76. Pressing <Escape> returns you to the options screen.

  78. You score 10 for matching two counters. Matching three is slightly more
  79. difficult and scores 75. To match four requires clever positioning and
  80. luck, and scores 150. Matching five or more is unlikely, but possible,
  81. and earns you more still.
